The Wagga Wagga Fencing Club
Wagga has had a number of fencing clubs over the years. In the late 70's and early 80's fencing was run out of the PCYC (or Police Boys Club as it was known then). Throughout the 70's the University (RCAE back then) had a fencing club but that disappeared toward the end of the decade with no one to coach the students.
In 2006 Julian returned to Wagga and not wanting to loose touch with the sport he loves Julian began teaching through the Riverina Community College. In 2007, with the support of his students, he formed the Wagga Wagga Fencing Club. The Club has had many homes, including an old Chinese restaurant, and now is based out of Lake Albert Village Hall.
The club enjoys a strong relationship with many of the Clubs in the ACT and has a good reputation in the NSW and ACT fencing communities and has been awarded the NSW Regional Club of the Year 2012 and 2015.
Over the years we have had a good deal of success with three or four students competing internationally and two fencing at the 2018 Commonwealth Veterans Titles.
In late September the Club tries to host the Riverina Fencing Championships and had good numbers and many Australian representatives come and enjoy the event. Unfortunately, Covid has put a stop to this. We are hoping to get the championships happening again, soon.
Always looking to promote the sport and gain new members we are happy for people to come and have a go, we'll take any one from 8 to 80+.

The Club is happy to have you drop in and have a trial and learn about this great sport
